You're probably thinking "Did Callandra just paint every other fingernail last week?" Well, yes maybe I was rocking a different nail look last week but it wasn't totally on purpose. 

Last Saturday I got a shellac manicure that lasted exactly two days!  Of course I went back Monday and the salon was only to happy to redo the manicure with a different bottle. 

Two days later the shellac was again popping off my fingernails (normally my shellac manicures last a minimum of two weeks)!  Hence my funky nail look....if it happens again I'm going to tell everyone it's a brand new thing from LA and see how many will jump on the band wagon! Lol

I ran out early Saturday morning to purchase the American Eagle Skirt in the first picture at their 40 % off  sale this weekend one hour before I had to be at the party that I was wearing it too!  It's not that I hadn't prepared my outfit beforehand, just turned out that I had bought the wrong size (which is what happens when I don't try things on before purchasing).  Luckily they still had my size in stock, which I bought with the additional discount and I managed to snag another skirt along the way!  Don't you just love a great silver lining?!!

Don't buy it, Recreat it: JCrew

JCrew is one of my favorite catalogs to get in the mail.  Their looks are always fresh, inspiring, visually interesting and even exciting!  Their November catalog, where I got the picture above did not disappoint. 

My first thought when I see an outfit I like is "what a great look" which is quickly followed by "how can I replicate it"?  For this look I chose a skirt that I felt mirrored more the style rather than the actual fabric of the JCrew skirt. 

I was thinking that it might be fun to receive catalog looks from you guys that you might like to see replicated.  What do you guys think?.......sound like fun?

I have really been paying out for tailoring costs lately.  So when Mr PEMS suggested I simply fold over a bit of the extra waist material on this skirt and sew it secure with a button, I gave it a try.  I have to say that I love the extra visual interest it adds (and the money it saved me)!  What do you guys think?......Too contrived or easy solution?
