Outfit Recap for Third Week of June

I don't know about you guys, but I find myself to be the most challenged regarding what to wear when it's raining insanely outside.  I want to look stylish and occasion appropriate but also remain dry and comfortable.  Do any of you guys have a perfect chic rainy day outfit that you can share?

As usual I'm posting this 43 minutes past my regularly scheduled bed time so please leave any questions regarding outfit details below.

Have a great week my dear friends!

  1. Oh man, I am so tired of the rain lately. I hate dressing in the morning when it's raining outside. Thank you so much for your outfit recap series. I can definitely use these for my 30x30 challenge :)

  4. Hi Callandra, we haven't 'met' before, but I've been following you on Bloglovin. Had to comment on your fantastic wellies: you DO know how to dress for rain! The outfit is fresh, funky, so well fitted and with the perfect coloued-bag.

  5. Just found your blog and I love it! I'm now following :)

Regarding the rainy day outfits...my favorites are the 4th and 5th one. I think you look great in all of them. I know what you mean though about not knowing what to wear on a rainy day. My go to outfit for a rainy day is my brown peacoat, black jeans, burberry plaid rain boots, and a lacey white top.

  6. I'm so in love with outfit 6.
My rainy day style: polka dot raincoat and polka dot wellies, both from Target. I usually wear XS but I have this raincoat in S and M. S is ok if I wear only a simple top underneath, but if I have a cardi on I feel a bit squeezed. It's such a pretty thing and I got a lot of compliment with it. You may not need to buy the polka wellies because you already have one pair which can go perfectly with the raincoat.

  7. Love all your skirts & outfits #3 & #5. I personally don't like to wear rain boots. I usually just wear my old shoes then switch them when I get inside my office. I think in my opinion, skirt or capri is the way to go on a rainy day as it won't get easily wet. Long pants in the rainy day is not a good idea as the hem will all get wet.

  8. Dressing for rain is hard especially if it's only drizzling outside. Most of the time I don't wear a rain coat because it's just to humid out but on those rare occasions when it's pouring, I settle for the classic trench coat. http://tinyurl.com/3wdyqxj

  9. Love all of these looks...I am so bad when it comes to rainy day looks. I usually dress around my boots (sad).

  10. love the outfits, I like how you paired a solid colored outfit with a fun print bag to mix it up! and those rainboots are adorable!

  11. my favorite is your casual wear w/the scarf, loose short, capris and flats. The scarf really stands out against the rest of your solid color outfit. gives the eyes a focus around your face.

  12. I really like the skirt and t-shirt outfit! So chic but casual! I don't know how to dress when it's raining either - I HATE feeling wet so I'm usually all bundled up.

  13. Rain sucks, but that's what fun rainboots are for. I think you should be giving us tips on how to dress for a rainy day instead of the other way around ;) I remember you wore a dress with your rainboots once and I wanted to run out and copy -- only it wasn't raining that day, lol. Love all your outfits as usual :) Have a great week, Callandra!

  16. That's exactly how I feel Sydney! Hate getting dressed in the morning when it's raining outside :(

Thank you Sew Petite, I love all of those pieces too! Btw, the black white top is the shibori floral ruffle top from Ann Taylor, it has a little bit of blue in it. (Finally got it on sale - Yay)!

Thank you Ping! I love dresses and skirts with pockets too ;)

Hi Break Fast ;) I didn't know you could follow me on bloglovin' but I really don't understand how all of these different blog hosts work. Thanks so much for following and for the very sweet comment!

Hi Azu, Thanks so much for following! Your rainy day outfit sounds quite adorable....very classic chic!

Thank you Xtra Small ;) Your rainy day outfit sounds really cute!

Hi Lydia, I certainly agree with you on the skirts and cropped pants for rainy days. I find wellies very challenging to style but I hate to get my feet wet!

Hi Nancy, I much prefer the drizzeling rain to the veritable downpours we've had around here lately. They're both kind of hard to dress for though for sure ;)

Actually that's what I do too Elle! Lol That's why I was wondering if you guys had any ideas around that ;)

    Thanks so much Pop!

You have such a great eye Aubrey, thank you!

I hate feeling wet too Elaine!....but I hate feeling bundled up too.......it's so sad :(

That's funny Cee! ....but you could actually copy that outfit because you've got the same exact dress ;)

Lol Tara! You totally crack me up. Of course I got mine thrifted so there's bound to be more of them out there.

  19. Callandra, you are so stinkin' cute! Everything looks great on you...and I'm really liking how your hair is growing out!

Today was the first day that we've gotten serious rain in .... months! It doesn't rain very often in Houston, so I never really come up with rainy day outfits. I do have rubbers from Banana Republic that are very easily confused for leather riding boots, and I'll just wear those if I'm out and it's raining. Truthfully, those suckers haven't seen the light of day since...the beginning of this year, I think? I do like your rainy day outfit, though!

Outfit #5 is my favorite! The fit of the pieces, the scarf, your hair, the flats...it all works perfectly together!

    Thanks so much Katherine!

Thanks Kish ;) #5 is my favorite too actually! It's an old standby that I can't resist wearing as often as I get the chance.

Lol Annie!! I'd actually love to get your outfits together every morning, sounds like a blast!

  24. Callandra, I just stumbled upon your blog recently and I'm in LOVE with your style. You are incredibly chic! Every week I look forward to your Outfit Recap posts. Nevertheless, I do want to suggest that adding the outfit details on your post will be helpful. I've seen the details on previous posts that I was wondering why you weren't posting them anymore. I know in this post you asked us to just comment for details, but the truth is ALL your outfits are so cute, I'd just ask for ALL the specifics, especially if they're on sale at the stores at this very moment. The minute you commented about the Shibori floral ruffle top from Ann Taylor, I ran out and bought it in 0P (that's my size). I was so excited. I thought to myself I'm going to look as cool as Callandra! :)

  25. Lol Anonymous! (Your comment sounds exactly like something I'd say, that's so funny)!! I should take time for outfit details but sometimes life just gets super busy...........I will def make a point to post details if the items are recent or still available (just for you) hee hee Score on the shibori floral ruffle top - so glad you were able to find it in your size, it really is an amazing piece for sure. Thank you so much for leaving me a comment!
