Hi Guys! This is an SOS for my cousin's wedding coming up at the end of next week. The wedding will be outside in a beautiful park and I'm thinking the reception will be as well.
I am torn about which dress to wear and was hoping I could count on my lovely fashion friends to steer me in the right direction.
So here is the first contestant. Bought from Target's international designer line when it made it's first appearance a couple of years ago.
Oh! Also, if you guys have recommendations for shoes and jewelry I'd appreciate your suggestions for sure!
Here is the next dress.......bought from f21 last year. You guys have seen it before. It hasn't gotten a lot of wear but I totally love it too.
Please let me know which you prefer......or if you think neither one is the perfect choice. Thank you all so much for your help, I really appreciate it!!
By the way, I was honored to be interviewed by smashion recently. I like the pink one better! I think short sleeves are the way to go. But you'd look lovely in either one!
ReplyDeleteThank you Stacy! Forgot to mention it's a day wedding too........
ReplyDeletepink one:)
ReplyDeleteI would go with the pink one too, Callandra. Since it's a wedding, pink would be more cheerful :) Have fun!
ReplyDeleteI like the pink one, it looks stunning on you. I would go with a nude shoe and your aqua/mint anthropologie necklace would look stunning with the rosy color.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you choose!
I like the pink dress. Maybe pair the dress with a more conservative dress shoes?
ReplyDeleteI pick pink, too - it has such a cute silhouette!
ReplyDeleteI agree - pink is more befitting an outside wedding.
ReplyDeleteYou look great in both, but I would definitely pick the pink one to wear to a wedding. I think it would look better with a higher heel sandal or nude pump.
ReplyDeleteLovely! For a wedding I would choose the pink!
ReplyDeleteI think you look perfect on both dresses. The cut is better on the pink, but I prefer the black color on your skin.
ReplyDeleteThe pink one is really flattering and perfect for Spring
ReplyDeleteI think the pink dress would be the way to go for a spring daytime wedding. It's so bright and cheery. A higher heel also would look perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove the pink dress on you. The sleeves on the black dress seem to overwhelm you. You still look great on both dresses, (I actually wore a black dress with big poppies to an outdoor wedding in May.)
ReplyDeletePink is more festive and springy. Add thin short gold necklace, it will embellish your neck without competing with the beautiful frills on your dress. You can wear bold ring or bracelet though.
ReplyDeleteWear with nude if you want to play it safe or see the links below for a color block effect (a bit tricky but also trendy if you do it right)

I definitely think the pink is more summery but agree with the others on maybe a less dressy/shiny shoe since it's a day wedding? Can't wait to see the full ensemble you choose.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of you new followers. Love your blog! If I may say, love them both but I think for summer & day wedding, the black one is a little "heavy". The pink one is more "airy" & fun. Agree with the other commenters, maybe a different shoes. A nude opened-toe high heel sandal/pump maybe?
ReplyDeleteThe pink is a better choice for a day wedding in the park. I think a pewter/gunmetal/matte silver sort of color will work best for sandals (it will go well with the pink). I suggest flats or a wedge heel since it will be outdoors in the park.
ReplyDeletepink
ReplyDeletedefinitely the pink one! such a knock out!
ReplyDeletei love the fuschia!!! the gray kind of dwarfs you. i love your blog.
ReplyDeleteLOVE both dresses but pink one would be great for the wedding.
ReplyDeletepink. i dont believe in wearing black to a wedding. lots of people do it, but I always want to ask them, "did you really not have any other option?"
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the pink since one should not wear black to a day wedding. Also the black is a little overwhelming on you. A nude closed-toe or pee-toe wedge or if you want to go a little funky try a turquoise wedge play up the contrast.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the pink!
ReplyDeleteI vote for pink, by far! It is the perfect color for this time of year, fits you amazingly, and looks awesome on your skin tone! You look stunning!
ReplyDeletePink! Perfect for an outdoor wedding. If you have silver strappy sandals you could wear those with silver jewelry
ReplyDeleteI would go with pink too, but do you have any other options?
ReplyDeleteI'm on the pink train!
ReplyDeleteLike most everyone else, my vote is for pink. It screams spring-outdoor-wedding to me. I like the bracelet and rings that you currently have on... but perhaps add a dainty necklace?
ReplyDeleteI think this is the first time you told us you work as a wardrobe stylist? But somehow I just KNEW you work in the fashion industry somehow. Ahh... can you share what a day in your life is like? It sounds so fabulous :)
Pink, definitely!
ReplyDeleteI will vote pink with most everyone else. Not sure how the weather is where you are, but it is EXTREMELY hot here and there is no way I could wear the dark. For shoes, a wedge heel is nice outside. I kept sinking in the grass when I wore skinny heels to an outdoor wedding last month.
ReplyDeleteWow!! Thank you everybody for your help!! Sounds like pink is def the way to go for sure ;) .......Hi Cee! My business as a wardrobe stylist doesn't pay the bills yet, but it's the most rewarding job I've ever had and I totally love it!
ReplyDeleteGo with the Pink! Very summery.
ReplyDeleteIn the pink dress picture, could I ask what size you are wearing? I noticed Target is having this dress on clearance, in size S. Is that the smallest size they had at the time? Thanks for your help!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Addy!
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, the my pink dress by Zac Posen for Target is a size xs. Thanks for much for commenting ;)
