Wedding Outfit Help (Again)

Here we go again.  You guys were so helpful with my last wedding SOS and I can't tell you how much I appreciate your input with a couple of more options.

The first dress is a trapeze dress I bought from Banana Republic a couple of years ago.  It can either be worn in full trapeze or there is a tiny leather flower belt that belts in front and the captures the inside lining.  It's hard to explain so here's a picture of the dress in full trapeze.

And here is a picture of the dress belted.  I've also tried it with different shoes...........let me know which of those you prefer as well please.

You can see in this picture how the belt wraps underneath the top layer......very '70's glam I think.

Next is a Michael Kors dress I bought two years ago at an outlet on vacation.

This dress got Mr. PEMS's vote but I think that he may just prefer the dress in general, rather than for the wedding in particular it's hard to tell with guys sometime.
It's between these two dresses here and the pink dress here from the first wedding outfit post.  So what do you guys think?

  1. Okay, it would be between these two for me. The trapeze dress is definitely cute, fun, and daytime-wedding-in-the-park. BUT the Michael Kors dress is STUN.NING.ON.YOU. (Especially how you've accessorized it.)
Maybe it's because I'm a big fan of MK, but I think that outfit has my vote.
    Tough choices...Good luck!

  2. Love both dresses on you but #2 looks especially fab on you!

  3. I agree with other ladies, I think outfit #2 is the winner :)

  4. I like the color of the first dress, but the second one fits much better on you. The first dress is a bit shapeless, honestly. Even when belted.

  5. The #2 fits better on you. It looks more formal.

  6. 2nd dress is great on you and more dressier. i do like the first dress, but only when belted and wear it if a day time wedding.

  7. i still like the initial pink dress...
but i also like the green with the flower
especially for an outdoor afternoon wedding...
but you look great in all 4!

  8. I love the green one! It's so unique, fresh, floaty...PERFECT for a daytime wedding! That is what you're going to, isn't it? If it's evening, then def. MK dress.

  9. Another vote for #2! Just more flattering all around.

  10. Oh, and if you go with the green, I prefer it without the flower...very cool/interesting/unique shape to the original dress!

  11. I lovedddd the pink one from the previous post

  12. Hmm... I'm sticking with the pink dress from the previous post. That dress would be perfect for a daytime or nighttime wedding. Both of today's options feel right for only one.

  13. Oooh, this is tough. The MK dress looks great on you, but I feel like it's a tad too casual looking for a wedding. I think it would be a great choice for a date night or holiday party, but for a wedding I would choose the green dress (definitely, with belt) or the pink dress for the daytime wedding. As far as shoes goes, I don't think either of the nude heeled sandals work with the dresses. There's something about the wooden heel that throws both outfit off for me and makes it feel more like a "stroll in the park" rather than "going to a wedding" shoes. Of all the options you've presented, the metallic gold heeled sandal is the best; however it would look better if it was a higher heel instead of a kitten heel.

  14. I like the green dress picture 2. It looks dressy and summery. Very nice for a wedding.

  15. I love both on you Callandra, but for a wedding, especially around now, I think the first one gets my vote! I like the silhouette better belted but I don't love the purplypink flower. Let us know what you end up going with!

  16. Whoah, ok, never mind - the pink dress from earlier actually blows both of these options out of the water for a wedding. I agree with Cee's vote!

  17. i love the first dress... but i say no b\c it has a lot of white in it... and you know how people feel about that.

my choice is the pink or the mk dress. both really pretty!

  18. If it's a daytime, outdoor wedding, you have to go with the green one belted and with the gold shoes. I would envy your outfit at the wedding. If not a daytime, I still LOVE the pink dress. I almost bought that at Target when it came out, but it never fit me right. It's looks superb on you, and I know everyone loves the MK dress, but I think it looks a bit dull. You seem to shine in brighter colors; my humble opinion. Have fun at the wedding!

  19. I stick to the Pink option. The green print is my second choice.
I like the Kors outfit but I think dark and neutral colors don't have a festive vibe.

  20. Love the pink! The second is the green with the flower belt!

  21. I love the MK dress! That is my vote for sure! I really love the necklace too. It is perfect with the dress!

  22. OMG I love love that green dress! Actually, I love both. But the green is so summery and fun.

  23. Now I'm torn between the pink dress and green dress. The pink one is elegant but there's something so airy and outdoorsy about the green one, which might make it perfect for the wedding. If you decide to go with the green one maybe try a thin gold belt instead of the flower one so it can belt all around and emphasize your waist as well as match the gold sandals. The MK dress is gorgeous but I feel it's more appropriate for a date night.

  24. I think if you had to choose between these two go for the first option (the MK is GORGEOUS but maybe not for a summer wedding?). I recently tried on that pink one your earlier post (I can't believe I forgot to link you when I posted) and I have to say you look a million times better in it so I vote for that one as well!

  25. You have the most amazing eye. Both outfits are perfection. But, I don't think you want to look back and say you wore a "beige/tan" sweater to "so and so's wedding". I like the light and airy-ness of the first option with the lovely flower and gold accessories. It's so lady-like, fresh, and how take advantage of the season and wear the light colors.

  26. I like the pink dress from the first post and the 2nd dress in this post. But I think the 2nd dress is a bit more casual to me.

  27. the green dress with a white belt, add a flower to it, and the gold sandals.

    ReplyDelete
  28. My vote from all 4 of the choices is definitely the Banana Republic dress WITH the belt! Beautiful, light, and summery - perfect for a wedding!

  29. love the green dress with the belt. it's very pretty -- love the material and print. i'm still voting for the pink one though! heehee

  30. Hum...I think for the weather and month- my choice is the first dress belted. W/out a belt hides your cute figure....:D

    ReplyDelete
  31. I would choose the first dress, :)

  32. Wow ;) Thank you all so much for your insightful comments, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help!!

  33. Hands down the green dress, belted, metallic shoes - not the kitten heels.. higher heels. And not the bag in the pic. You need a clutch.. something we beads would be nice...but isn't a must. Love the flower as well. The colors in this look make your eyes pop and do wonders for your skin!!

  34. With Cee, Jean & Ping. go w/the pink one.

hate trapeze dresses w/o belts. 2nd one is no go for a spring/summer wedding when you've got the pink.

  35. I'm all about #2! The cardigan, the statement necklace, well just everything is fab! xo

    ReplyDelete
  36. I like the black dress. It really suits you and looks beautiful with the jacket and clutch. You could maybe vary up the clutch and jewelry if you are bored of the dress.

  37. Hi! I prefer the green dress with the belt - it looks more fresh and romantic, especially for a daytime outdoor wedding. High heeled metallic sandals would look great, but I worry you might be sinking in the lawn if everything is held outdoors. In that case, a cute wegde would feel much better. I would complete the look with a clutch (ideally one with optional handle, so you can free your hands when needed). By the way, I love your blog and your style! Good Luck!!!
