It's been forever since my last post..................23 days to be exact!
I have plenty of excuses to effectively acquit myself, but the bottom line is after being sick and sleeping on the couch for almost two weeks straight, I had no interest in clothes, makeup or shoes, no desire to post, shop or even get dressed.
I found this extreme lack of motivation quite distressing and finally confided my guilty secret to Mr. PEMS (who had probably already guessed as much after my repeated daily ensemble of sweatpants and flip-flops). He kindly told me to give it a couple of weeks and see how I felt after that. I actually think that he may have initiated an intervention as well, because not long after my confession, sissy called and asked me over to watch some new What Not to Wear episodes. In addition, I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts so much, I can't tell you how grateful I have been for all of you and your wonderful blogs!
Surprisingly, I have been a good girl since going back to work from our Holiday Break and have faithfully taken pictures of each day's outfits....(well, almost each day's outfits). hee hee
I have to be honest with you girls, the weather is freezing here (today's high didn't make it past 20 degrees) so I am fast running out of stylish, warm outfit inspirations and I can't tell you how sick I am of wearing pants! If any of you ladies have some stylish winter wear inspirations, styling tips or ideas on how to keep it fresh and interesting (while staying warm) please pass it on!

So sorry to hear you weren't feeling well...but so glad to see you back posting your amazing layering ability!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, I hope you're feeling better - because you sure look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how in the midst of summer all we can think about is being able to layer cute pieces together and wear nice warm jackets - and then you get to the dead of winter and the thought of trying to look nice takes a big ole back seat to plain staying warm!
yay!! so glad to have you back!! i've missed your wonderful outfits and your master layering skills. very lovely looks and i hope you're feeling better!
ReplyDeletecute and little
callandra! i have missed your posts. all your outfits look so expensive and chic. i love the way you layer everything and incoporate color.
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing welcome back post! I like every thing too TOO much.
ReplyDeleteoutfit 1) my coworker owns that bcbg sweater vest. I wish I could find one for myself. I think she has a cream one. I like your hunter green one much better. Nice pairing w/that blouse and plaid pants. You should consider joining Kileen's Color Brigade.
outfit 2) One of the items on my wishlist: chambray shirt, or even denim shirt like you have here. Classic American sportswear.
outfit 3) I see how you're staying warm and sticking to your creative layering skills.
outfit 4) Perfection. what's not to like here...really???!!! Everything fits so well, and the colors are so pleasing.
outfit 5) Ever since seeing Kate Middleton in her royal blue engagement dress, I'm so fond of this color on everyone. and here, you prove that it is such a flattering shade.
outfit 6) {exhale} How do you do it Callandra? You look so put-together here!
i'm glad you're feeling better! and you're so awesome at layering! i love all of your outfits!
ReplyDeleteWow what a treat! So many lovely outfits to peruse :) Welcome back and glad you're feeling better. I've been struggling to keep up with blogging and juggling work/personal life. Still haven't figured it out yet but thank goodness for the petite community!
ReplyDeleteI was really missing your posts! Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteI love all the outfits but my fav is the first and last...wait, I take that back- now I can't decide! LOL
You have amazing style:)
Thank you Cee. I can tell from the pics which days I wasn't quite ready to be out of sweatpants, but I don't think anyone else will be able to - hee
ReplyDeleteThank you Bella Style. Please let me know if there are any additions or changes you would recommend for each outfit ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle. To be honest, my outfits would be complete trash this season if it wasn't for the inspirational catalogs from JCrew and Talbots. Doesn't seem like the other designers put much work into creating true "winter" ensembles.
Hi Sydney, The jacket isn't current, but can often be found on E-bay. It's from the Loft and my size is the 00p. I do have to warn you that it runs slightly large. I don't know if you can tell from the pic, but the sleeves are the tiniest bit too long and the shoulders are a smidge too wide.
ReplyDeleteHi Jess, That's funny! Although from your lovely outfit posts I never would have guessed that you ever tire of skirts and dresses.
Hi Tara, Thanks for the sweet comment!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa. I totally hear you, it's so true!! ha ha
Thank you Kileen. I hear you have a color challenge going around, I'm going to have to check it out!!
Thanks so much Ping! Like you, I'm trying not to buy this year and I think shopping my own closet has got the creative juices flowing ;)
ReplyDeleteAubrey, I love your comment!...so much input, it's great! First of all, has your coworker created any amazing outfits with the vest? Second, I found the jean shirt on E-bay for $5.00! (of course I'm going to get it hemmed up slightly ;) ha
Thanks so much Leena. It's hard to stay warm and still look chic but I've noticed you manage very well ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Liane! I know what you mean, but it really is a lot of fun and it's wonderful to meet so many kind people who have so much in commen!!
That's so funny Annie! But I totally see why you chose the outfits you did. So close to your own style which I think is classic/chic. Have you ever taken a "what style type am I" test?...They're so much fun!
