OOTD: Sleep Shopping

As many of you have mentioned in your recent posts, I have been trying to avoid any extra spending since I obviously have plenty of clothes already and just need to mix things up a little to keep it fresh.
In spite of this fact, I couldn't resist browsing the Loft 40% off sale + free shipping offer that has been going on for the past few days.  And like many of you, I also fell hard for the abstract floral print pencil skirt.

This skirt reminds me of the seasonal printed skirts that are offered at JCrew but never for petites.  Unfortunately, similarly to the JCrew skirts, this one is not offered in petite's at this time (at least not on-line) it was affordable however (especially with the 40%off).
Haunted by thoughts of the many ways this skirt could be styled, I tossed and turned in bed, unsuccessfully trying to fall asleep.  Finally, unable to forbear any longer, I succumbed to temptation, quietly slid out of bed and padded to the computer ordering the skirt in a 00 regular.

I must not have been as quiet as I thought, because Mr. PEMS soon appeared in the hallway from the direction of the bedroom.  Looking from the order confirmation screen to my wide eyed zombie-like facial expression illuminated only by the glow from off of the computer, he sympathetically asked "Poor baby, were you sleep shopping again?"

It could happen  ;)

  2. A very cute post :). I am the same way--sleep shopping. I would lay in bed, pretending to be asleep so that the husband won't be concerned, while thinking about all the different ways I can style a new arrival item.

Thanks Bella Style. I copied this straight from the JCrew catalog but it does seem quite anthropologie doesn't it?

Michelle, Have to throw in some silly shots once in a while right? Tara ordered this skirt too so we'll both have posts on styling for it. Yay!

Cee, Crazily enough I took the pictures last week and wrote the post this morning without even realizing these pictures would be perfect for it! Good job on not shopping, it's very difficult to resist at times ;)

Thanks Elaine! It does remind me of a skirt you might wear with your fabulous tsubo shoes ;)

  9. You remind me of young Natalie Wood and her daughter, Natasha Wagner. Very delicate and pretty at the same time.

  10. What a cute outfit and what a story! If only sleep shopping could explain away my poor online shopping habits! But at least this year, I'm doing well holding back from any new purchases. Btw, I bet the LOFT skirt will look amazing on you! =)

  12. That's hilarious! I don't think I've ever done sleep shopping but I've definitely had shopping insomnia where I stay up way past my bedtime just filling up my online shopping cart - and then not buying!!

That skirt is really cute and I can't wait to see how you style it.
