My serene look in these photos are so very deceiving because I'm feeling really frustrated right now. I thought I would get up an hour early this morning and create a button for my blog that would be easy for other bloggers to grab and post on their side bars. Three hours later I'm ready to throw the laptop across the room and jump energetically on top of it! (Thankfully I haven't had any coffee yet this morning, so I probably won't ;) I'm off to the library to hopefully find a book on creating blog buttons for dummies ....if any exist. If you guys have any tips for this woefully html illiterate blogger, please help!
Outfit Details:
BR Outlet Denim Motorcycle Jacket (2010)
No Brand Black Long Sleeve Bodysuit (2010)
H&M Checked Skirt (Thrifted)
Black Asset Tights (Target)
Madden Girl Rhiana Booties (2010)
Simply Vera Wang Bracelet (2010)
Aldo Black Statement Ring (2010)
If it makes you feel any better, I don't even think I could figure out how to set up my own blog, much less a button for other bloggers to use! That outfit is adorable though. I have several skirts that are that length & style & I'm never sure what kind of outerwear to pair it with. This gives me some inspiration!
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad Callandra! I have been blogging for almost a year now and still have to google how to do mostly everything! I am HTML illiterate.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to create a button: try this:

Hopefully that will help. Pretty basic and straight forward :)
Aww, frustration is part of the learning process. But once you figure it out, it's such an amazing feeling. The link Annie posted is great. If you need any HTML help, shoot me an email and I can walk you through it. As for ideas on what picture to use, maybe a shot of your favorite outfit? Or the background of your blog?
ReplyDeleteAlso Callandra, I don't know if you were ever able to track down that Michael Kors Berkley clutch you wanted but I noticed that Nine West has something similar on their site. It's called the Nancy pleated clutch in natural & it's on sale for $29 plus for a limited time they're doing free shipping on any purchase. I saw in a couple of my magazines that snakeskin is big for Spring this year so of course I had to "invest" in the Michael Kors tote in snakeskin that I found at my TJ Maxx yesterday.:-) P.S. I think most TJ's have layaway that's 10% down or $10 (whichever is greater). It's for 30 days & there's no payment plan so if you run across something like that again, that's always an option. Because you know if you pass up a deal at TJ, It's usually gone the next time you're there!! ;)
ReplyDeleteBelieve me Sarah, if I can try this html thing anyone can ;) I've seen so many longer skirts on the runways lately that I can't help but try a few of the looks myself!
ReplyDeleteAnnie....you rock! I was able to create a button with the link you left - Thank you so much!!
I have to admit Cee, during the whole time of trying to figure the button thing out, part of me is loving the challenge...even if I have to walk away and come back after I've cooled down! Lol I used the picture I already had on hand, but I'll probably try it again with a better picture soon ;)
Wow! You're right Sara, the Nine West Nancy pleated clutch is very similar to the Kors Berkley clutch for sure!...and thank you so much for the layaway heads up. It's so true that if you don't purchase an item at TJ Maxx when you see it, you probably wont' see it again! Congratulations on your Kors snakeskin tote (definitely an investment ;)
Congrats on getting it figured out!! Adoable look...one of my favorites so far!!
ReplyDeleteAt least you had the urge and impulse to make a button! Haha, I didn't think to bother knowing that even the simplest html code will make me spout tears. I really like the link that Annie has suggested, I might check that out. =0D
ReplyDeleteA motorcycle inspired jacket with a fancy skirt, would've never thought of it! Love both of them together.
Thank you Bella Style....very simple look here but I can do simple (every once in a while ;) hee
ReplyDeleteHanna, I'm sure you'll have no problem at all, especially with the very easy instructions that Annie provided ;)
Yay you figured it out...I have had my share of struggles getting used to blogger jargon but I like the challenge too...however long it takes me.
ReplyDeleteAnd your outfit is so chic and sophisticated as usual. I like the understated color palettes a lot! :)
I love that skirt!! you're so adorable! As far as the button goes, I'm no help. Anything I accomplish is something I've googled!
ReplyDeletehttp://work-it-blog.blogspot.com/
You look adorable! When I don't know how to do something, I usually end up spending hours googleing to figure out how to do it...lots of trial and error lol! I wish I knew how to do more things like that though!
ReplyDeleteElle...I was able to find a "blogging for dummies" book at the library so hopefully I can get a bit more familiar with the jargon ;) hee Thank you for the outfit compliment, somedays are simple outfit days.....but I like those too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine...I noticed there is one available on e-bay right now in a size 2 (the size that I'm wearing). It's super comfortable and is fully lined as well!
Sounds like I'm just like you Tara...lots of googling and lots of trial and error....love that sense of accomplishment once I've figured it out though!
lol callandra-- im so clueless about this html stuff...
ReplyDeletebut on the bright side, your outfit is adorable and you look great. only you can pull off a skirt that length.
I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one Ping...I do intend to learn though (I think it's so cool to post pictures right next to each other.....maybe just seems cool 'cause I can't do it yet ;)....in any case, I will be studying my "blogging for dummies book". Didn't actually think about the length of the skirt 'till you said something....do you think I should have it shortened maybe?
ReplyDeleteI am loving this outfit! The jacket looks so great!! You really pulled off a knee-length skirt well!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got some assistance with the button!
Well even if you feel frustruated, at lease you look smokin'! I love the shape of that skirt on you, it is gorge!
ReplyDeleteI'm lucky Blogger makes blogging so easy for techno-dummies like me, haha!
Oh Callandra, blog work can be so frustrating sometimes! I'm the least techy person too. I'm glad you were able to make what you wanted to...Google is your friend when it comes to blog things.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the denim moto jacket. The dark black denim is something unexpected and makes it unique. I don't think you should get that skirt shortened...like Ping I think you're one of the few that can pull off things that length seamlessly and I wouldn't even think twice seeing it (I'm only mentioning it seeing your question up above).
Love the checked skirt!!!

Thank you Michelle....I remember that you posted a html code for putting pictures right next to each other so I will be re-visiting that post to learn a bit more about it ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa! ;) Luckily the skirts from H&M seem to be the perfect fit for me, so I haven't had to worry about buying them off of e-bay!
Jean, Can you believe...sitting at my desk today in the office, I realized that I hadn't actually created a button that other bloggers could use...Lol! Back to the drawing board I guess ;) I'm so glad to get your feedback on the length of the skirt. If it looks good at that length, then I'll def keep it as is....
