Who are you wearing?

Have you ever stopped someone while out and about and asked them "who" they were wearing?  I have a confession to make, I do it all them time..........Okay, not all the time..... just whenever I see someone wearing something that was actually meant to be a part of my closet. Lol!

At first I thought that it would be too embarrassing to actually approach someone to ask about outfit details, but then I realized that it would be far worse not to (if you know what I mean).  So far, everyone's been very flattered and amazingly helpful!

So what about you guys?  Have you ever asked someone or has anyone ever asked you?.....and what was your reaction?

Outfit Details:

Gap Denim Shirt (Thrifted - Altered)
Forever 21 skirt (Altered)
Nine West Cross Body Bag (TJMaxx)
Target Belt (2009)
Francessa's Ring (2010)
Target Bracelet (2009)

  2. well, i havent used the exact phrase "who are you wearing?"--i feel like that's aimed more towards designer clothes, but i have asked people where they have gotten something from.

  3. Fun outfit!

My typical shopping trip includes me talking to a stranger about their cute outfit! So, yes! Although, I have never used the phrase, "Who are you wearing?" Lol! You sound like you could work on the red carpet! :p

  4. I've been told that when I'm out and about, I have a cold and aloof look on my face. It's not like I do it on purpose... just most times I have a destination in mind, so I just walk purposely? haha. So nope, I've never had anyone come up to ask who I'm wearing. I'll admit that I'm too chicken to ask fashionable girls who they're wearing though. Got to work up that courage!

  5. totally, but i been too chicken to ask! i always see petite girls wear really nice tailored clothes and i want to ask them where did you get it. haha maybe next time :P

i love the boots you're wearing. i just clicked on the link and it just takes me to the dillard main page and not to the boots. :(

  6. Your outfit is so fun and cute but looks so comfortable!

I sometimes ask people who they are wearing when I am in love with their clothes but I don't do it enough because I feel too awkward asking! :)

  7. Yes - if I like something enough I will totally ask the person where they found their top, etc. My husband gets so embarrassed! :)

  10. I've asked people where they got something from if I really loved it and I've been asked that as well :) I think it's just a "girl" thing - very comfortable with it. It's a nice ice breaker too ;)

  11. If I compliment someone on something they are wearing, I typically follow up with a question about it's origins. That is only if they didn't tell me already! I find when you compliment someone on something, they tend to tell you where they got it, which I appreciate. I always consider it a great bit of flattery, I love it when someone asks about something I am wearing. It often makes me think even better of something I own, then I did before the compliment/question. For example, the shoes I am wearing now, faux sued wedges from Target. I like them, didn't necesarilly love them, but I get a ton of compliments on them. Now I love them! Plus it shocks everyone that they came from Target.

  12. I have no problem asking someone where they got something if it's super cute:D And I am flattered when people ask me where I got things. It's a sign that what I am wearing is decent..LOL

  13. I'm like you Khatu, I always find it very flattering ;)

It does sound like it's geared towards designer clothes doesn't it Leena?....I don't actually use that exact phrase because I'm afraid that they're already going to think I'm weird! Lol

Thank Michelle! Yeah, I was telling Leena that I haven't actually used that exact phrase either......but you know, it might be fun to try it once to see how they would react! heehee

That's funny Cee!....and to be honest, I think I probably look the same way. So far, everone I've approached has been super helpful but always have to bolster my courage before I ask.

  15. Oh Ping!...I'm so sorry!! I actually put in the link from shopstyle but didn't check it. I just tried it now and you're right, the boots don't come up. I bought them at Dillard's Saturday. The brand is Nurture The color is Olivia The Style is JADYN 001 They were originally 139.99 on sale for 41.99 I usually wear a 5.5 but I bought a size 6 because that was all they had left and they fit perfectly. Since they seem to be sold out online you might be able to call the stores and see if they have any in your size in store....they'll be on the sale racks. Hope this is helpful...let me know if you have anymore questions and good luck ;)

  16. You sound just like me Elle.....wish I had the courage to do it more than I do ;)

That's funny Leah...I always tell him before I approach someone so he has the option of walking away first! Lol

Thank you Mitr, I love it too ;)

It's so sad featherfactor, because I totally obsess if I chicken out and don't get up the courage to ask.

You do sound comfortable with it Elaine....sometimes it doesn't bother me at all and other days I just can't seem to do it!....strange I guess.

Lol Julee! That's so funny ;) I guess it could quickly become a "love" item if everyone tells you how great it is for sure!

Sounds like it comes quite naturally to you Annie....I think I'm going to have to practice more! ;) hee

  18. I live in an area where most people do not dress up. I usually get a few gawkers when they see how "splashy" I'm dressed. I will get the occasional compliment or where did you get that question. I usually get so flustered at that point, hahaha!

  23. Yup, I've asked people where they've gotten something they're wearing, and I've been asked!

I also found your blog via Loft's Facebook page and think you are the cutest thing ever! I'm 5'4", and don't wear petite clothes, but can definitely relate to having specific fit issues. I look forward to keeping up with your posts!
